DRAWING ROOM OF THE IVELIC FAMILY FROM RISAN – XIX C.
This drawing room is the legacy of the well-known Ivelic family from Risan. Marko Ivelic (portrait No. 1) was a diplomat in the Russian service at the beginning of the 19th century and married to a cousin of the Russian poet Alexandar Puskin (portrait No. 2). Then follows the portrait of the Count Simeon Ivelic, Marko's brother (portrait No. 3) Portraits of the Russian empresses Katherine the Great (portrait No. 4) and Elizabet Petrovna (portrait No. 5) are the presents given to Marko Ivelic by the Russian Emperor Court.
The walls of the drawing room are decorated with paintings of the sailing ships under the command of Captain Vladimir Ivelic, the last descendant of this family, whose photograph (Capt. Ivelic with wife Eva - No. 6) is to the left of the entrance. The paintings are the works of Vasilije Ivankovic, a sea-painter.
The wall vitrines contain family weapons including specimens of the French weapons seized by some members of the Ivelic family in the struggles with the Napoleon army.
